There are some things you might like to try first:

1) Set you mail package to only download mail headers, and then delete the
offending mail. (preselection in YAM)
2) If your mail server provides IMAP service you could try accessing that
way (providing you`ve a mailer that supports it)
3) Telnet into you mail server (using a standard telnet package (amtelnet)
- on Port 110) - find your message and delete.

POP commands:

USER username
PASS password
STAT - lists mailbox msgids
TOP n msgid - displays the first n lines of msgid
DELE msgid - deletes msgid

Those are from memory, so they may not be entirely accurate.
